Promoting Peace & Understanding
The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program was created in 1993 out of former Senator Bill Bradley’s idea to increase peace and understanding between the United States and emerging democracies of the former Soviet Union.
Future Leader’s Exchange (FLEX) students are very special because they are selected from over 50,000 applicants in Eurasia to study in the United States for one academic year under a J-1 visa. The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) is a government funded program brought to us by the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It provides opportunities for students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazahstan, Kyrgystan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Pacific Intercultural Exchange is proud to be a placement organization and partner of the FLEX program since 1994. Today, Pacific Intercultural Exchange manages the experience of approximately 135 FLEX participants and their host families each year. |
